Economic, handy, and appreciated gift
I give these "Epidemiology for Enlightenment" flashlights to teaching assistants, colleagues, and students. They are attractive, useful, and generally dependable. But keep them out of the hands of young children, because their intense beam may damage eyes. Although I'm a small volume user, I've repurchased twice.

Useful souvenir/prize
The Renegade flashlight is attractive, compact, and handy. It is lightweight but gives a bright light. Battery life seems good, and having a switch works better than the previous flashlight I used which was the twist-on-off variety. Concerns with the Renegade is some sharpness to one of the edges of the case and possible danger in the hands of young children who might point it in their or someone else's eyes.
